Case Heard in Same Court as Physicians' Case Against Major For-Profit Managed Care Companies United States District Judge

Federico A. Moreno of The United States District Court for the Southern District Court of Florida has assumed the RICO case brought against nearly sixty Blue Cross/Blue Shield affiliates throughout the country. The case will now be heard in the same court reviewing the national class action suit brought against the major for-profit managed care companies by over 700,000 physicians. Archie Lamb, co-lead counsel for the physicians noted, "This is a great decision for physicians and their hard fought efforts to improve our nation's healthcare system. These important cases are now in a forum with tremendous experience and expertise in these complex issues. We look forward to a positive resolution for doctors nationwide."
