October 17, 2002 - Washington, D.C - U.S. Supreme Court Announces Limited Arbitration Issue Review

The U. S. Supreme Court will consider only a specific issue about arbitration during the coming term. The review involves only two of more than a dozen insurance companies involved in the class action filed in Judge Federico Moreno’s court in the southern district of Florida. Harley Tropin, co-lead counsel with Archie Lamb for the physicians, called the development “…. a tempest in a teapot. The issues [that the court will hear] do not go to the heart of our cases,'' Tropin said. ``They address only certain claims against PacificCare and UnitedHealthcare, not our primary claims of conspiracy and aiding and abetting.''
