December 11, 2001 -- AMA Launches Online Health Plan Complaint Form
The American Medical Association has announced the creation of an online Health Plan Complaint Form to assist physicians in documenting the many difficulties and frustrations they experience each day in dealing with managed care plans across the country. The form, developed by AMA Private Sector Advocacy, will allow physicians to provide confidential information in a secure online setting and in a manner that allows the identification of trends and facilitates discussions of the many problems doctors face with managed care. The data base will be used to support the AMA legislative agenda and will allow doctors to address the claims of the health care industry that the majority of complaints are only “anecdotal” in nature. For additional details and information please see the full text of the AMA release.
